The Aid For
Tibet Society was founded in 2000 by Jasdeep Singh Brar, a student
at Merchant Taylors' School, London. It is the only society in
the school, and of its kind, that is entirely run by students
under the age of 18.
The aim of
the society is to raise awareness of the suffering of the people
of Tibet, which has been largely overlooked by the international
community. This is done via a joint letter-writing campaign with
Amnesty International to various consulates and Heads of State
around the world. We do not take a political stance towards China
and our efforts are purely humanitarian.
The society
also also raises funds to help the people of Tibet directly and
we use some of these funds to sponsor a Tibetan child through
his education.
To learn more
about the suffering of Tibet please view the Tibet Fact File.
We hope you
will aid us in our relentless pursuit of justice for the Tibetans,
and join in yourself.
Please also
take some time to leave some comments on our guestbook and voice
your opinion about the situation in Tibet. This will act as a
sort of petition which we can forward to consulates etc.
